History of our Group

The 3rd Scouts Group of Chalandri was founded in 1965 under the name 3rd Scouts Group of Polydroso. It was recognized in the 12/5/1976 along with the groups 1st, and 2nd of Chalandri and 4th of Vrilissia. It fell apart in January 1978 (during that period it was accommodated in Saint Athanassios of Polydroso). After 1978, there is no information available about the 3d Scouts Group until 1988 when it was re-established by Nikos Karniak, who specialized it as Sea Scouts.

After its re-establishment the 3rd Scouts Group functioned in a garage in Taygetou Street, until 1994, at which point it was granted the space it functions under till today. The space is in a sordid condition. The group has seen a dramatic decrease of its members, due to the group’s transfer to this space and the condition of it.

The head of the Team and unique Leader, Demos Grigoropoulos, decided to change the group’s specialty from Sea scouts to Air scouts. The group remained open for 3-4 months, but closed later on.

In October 1995, the group was re-established as a Sea Scouts Group. The new head of the group was Tzianetopoulos Stelios. The group functioned in a new space that was provided by the church of Metamorphosis, while the group’s original space was being reconstructed. In 1998, the group ceased to operate, once again.

The group was re-established, once again, in November 1999. The new head of the group was Efi Moyzaki.

The group now operates in a space provided and renovated by the Municipality of Chalandri at the address Messinias 39 and Taygetou Street, Toyfa, Chalandrioy.
