KERAVNOS Vs AEL : 50 -

The team lost from AEL
in the first game of the play-off finals. The team had a bad night in
Strovolos and they gave the chance to AEL to make the break in the
Play-offs and lost the advantage they rightfully earned in the regular
season.
The team started the game
good. The girls tried to play good defense and this gave them the chance
to take and keep the lead in the most of the first quarter.
Offensively
they passed to their team-mates and they generally showed that they were
up for the final. In
this first ten minutes the girls showed a good face and that they would fight
this important game. The first quarter score was 11-12 to AEL.
The
second quarter started at the same tempo, with both teams trying their
best to take take the lead to the score. Keravnos continue at the same
tempo, by playing good defense. Offensively all the players help to keep
the team close to the score. The half time score was 24-24.
The third quarter started
ideally for the defending champions. The girls took the lead on the
score and in addition Pantic was send off with disqualification foul
(after an improper contact on Silvia Charalampous). The score at that
time and after 3 minutes in the third quarter was 29-26 for Keravnos.
In the following seven
minutes the worst possible scenario occurred. The girls without any
passion and any concentration left their opponents to take the lead and
score 20 points, while Keravnos scored only 6.
This was mainly the
reason that tonight's game was lost among with the advantage the team
built in the six previous months. The passion
this team had all these years suddenly disappear.
There was no motivation to win the game and
the big final of the Championship. The girls did
not give any help to their teammates and the
did not fight for any of the rebounds, even
the defensive ones. Offensively, they did not run
their plays and each player play individually. Over a night all
the efforts this team made including the girls, the manager and the
committee disappeared. IT
IS TRULY A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT TO SEE THIS TEAM PLAY THE WAY THEY DID IN
THE SECOND HALF.
WE
RUN THIS WEBPAGE THE LAST SEVEN YEARS MAINLY FOR THIS TEAM AND THE
PLAYERS. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE TRULY BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE TO
CRITICISE MAINLY THE PLAYERS OF THIS TEAM. AT THE END OF THE DAY THEY
ARE THE ONES WHO PLAY. WE BELIEVE THE SOLUTION IS VERY SIMPLE AND EASY.
EACH PLAYER HAS TO THINK WHAT THEY TRULY OFFERED TO THE TEAM THE LAST
TWO GAMES, BEFORE THEY EVEN THINK TO CRITICIZE ANYONE ELSE. FIRST FIGURE
OUT WHAT THEY CAN DO TO BRING THE TEAM SPIRIT BACK AND THEN WHAT THEY
CAN GAIN FOR THEMSELVES. BASKETBALL IS A TEAM SPORT AND NOT AN
INDIVIDUAL ONE. WE ALSO BELIEVE THAT THE COMMITTEE HAS MADE EVERYTHING
POSSIBLE TO HELP THE TEAM FACE THE GREAT DIFFICULTIES OF THIS YEAR'S
SEASON. EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES IN THEIR LIFE AND THEY SHOULD NOT STAY
IN THE PAST. WE BELIEVE THAT THE CHAMPIONSHIP IS NOT YET LOST BUT ONLY
ONE "FIGHT". IF THE GIRLS BELIEVE IN THEIR TEAM-MATES ABILITIES AND
THEIRS, THEY CAN STILL REVERSE THIS SITUATION.
the girls must and should awake and see the
seriousness of the situation we are all into. most of the players in the
team help built keravnos history. a history that does not write
that the team losses a game without fighting. they should respect at
least this simple fact.
we are all going to Limassol
to help the team. there are fans who love and admire this team and they
have a hard time believing what is happening. the girls should not let
themselves exposed on wednesday. they should not go to limassol unless
they truly believe that the team of keravnos can win this match. we
would not criticize the players if the tried and lost. we criticize them
because they did not play on their best of their abilities and the
team's abilities.
