(26th March) KERAVNOS Vs APOEL : 113 - 37

KERAVNOS, proved again, that they are the best team in Cyprus. The only difference about this game was, that the players believed that it was time to play according to their abilities and the great basketball they can play. They left their problems behind and they won APOEL by 76 points difference !!!

From the very first minute the girls took the lead to the score and they did not loose it in any part of the game. In the first half the girls followed the orders of the coach and they showed to APOEL that they would face a very difficult opponent and that they would not give them the chance to think that they could get something from this game. It is very hard even to try and explain how the girls played this first quarter. We thought that this first quarter was the best this team had this season but they proved us wrong (as they had a better one, the third quarter)!!!

Lets take things from the beginning. In this first quarter the girls played excellent. The defence was very good and on the other hand offensively, we have seen something, that fans in Cyprus rarely see. The girls were unstoppable. They passed to their team-mates and they generally showed that they are ready for the finals. All five players that started for the team scored in this quarter. We only have to mention here the first quarter score which was 33-5 (27 points difference in the first ten minutes). In the second quarter the girls played good, but not in the same tempo as in the first magnificent first quarter (dedicated to Vicky !!!). The half time score was 51 - 20.

In the second half KERAVNOS raised their game to a different level. Besides the great offensively game (they scored 36 points in ten minutes), they played excellent defence. APOEL managed to scored only 2 points in this quarter. Again there is not much to say for the team... besides that they played their best quarter of the season... until the next one. The final ten minutes was procedural. The coach gave the chance to all the players available and they proved him right.

It is hard to distinguish best players in this game. We decided to name all eight players that play for KERAVNOS tonight as best players. SO BEST PLAYERS TONIGHT WERE... MAYA, ANCA, MONICA, SYLVIA, STALO, PAVLINA, GEORGIA KONSTANTINOU AND KONSTANTINA.

Top scorers were Maya with 37 points, Anca with 28, Stalo with 16 points and Sylvia with 13 points.

In addition, we have to mention the three players that were in the injury list, JULIA, GEORGIA nIKOLAOU & EWA. they all three HELPED THE TEAM IN THEIR OWN WAY and by showing their great team spirit. They also try TO MAKE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO RETURN TO THE TEAM.
