(19^th February) AEL Vs KERAVNOS:  53 - 62

The team triumph In LIMASSOL AGAINST AEL AND THEY FINISH THE REGULAR SEASON IN THE LEAD. THIS GIVES KERAVNOS GREAT ADVANTAGE OVER THEIR OPPONENTS FOR THE PLAY-OFFS.

Keravnos started the game as planned by the coach. With defense coming from a book the girls did not let their opponents to play their game. The team although, had another "hidden weapon" for this game and that was their offence. In the first quarter four players scored, with Anca leading the team with 9 points, followed by Ewa Slotala (the newest addition of our team), Stalo and Despina. In this quarter the team was unstoppable and the above players together with our point guard Julia played one of the best quarters for the current season. The first quarter score was 07-22. The team continued in the same tempo in the second quarter. With concentration in high level, the girls showed that they would not make the same mistakes as in the first game. They continued the same good defense, helped each other and they played as true champions. The half time score was 19-37.

The second half started with AEL playing very strong and with three players (Eibele, Pantic and Audere) tried to turn the game around. Keravnos in this quarter did not play very good. The defense did not have the same consistence as in the first half. The team made easy mistakes and missed easy shoots.  The last quarter started with Keravnos leading AEL by 10 points (34-44). Both the teams tried their best to win the game and together the first position of the regular season. Keravnos was fortunate to have Anca, finishing the game were she started. She scored eleven continued points at this quarter.  Silvia, Ewa and Stalo played great defense and together with the two point-guards Despina and Julia in their organizing positions help the team reached a valuable win and together the top of the regular season.

All the players used by the coach played very well. Especially in the first half the girls showed their great basketball skills.

Top scorers were Anca with 22, Ewa with 11 points and Despina and Silvia with 10 points each.
